April 2009: Cycling to Te Mata Cheese

By Lois Ward
It was a cool morning for the club bike ride to Havelock North. 19 cyclists made their way along the Rotary Pathway. Some started at Soak Cafe, others joined in at various points along the way. Mary and I started at the rest area on the South end of the Parade. We were worried we would be left behind, however we were not caught up to until we were nearly at the Havelock end of the walkway.

Once at the cafe the coffee was good. Jane had a few running repairs done by Dennis (the gentleman) while she sipped on her coffee. The weather brightened up and I took off my gloves for the return journey. A stop off at the Greedy Gannet for Kevin, Lois, Jane and the Hill family for an ice cream, then

the final stretch was cycled. Yah, we made it. The weather was pretty well perfect (no wind), the company was great, all in all a good day, except of a few sore bums!!!
